Man, slightly off James Bond was the funniest thing I have heard in a long while but now I have to wait a whole year to hear the new characters, curses you wrong side of the Atlantic!

I’ll disagree with you over Trail of Cthulhu being superior to ‘standard’ Cthulhu, it’s only superior if you don’t find failing interesting and some of my fondest memories of roleplaying are from failure. Heroes should be fallible, it’s what makes them interesting to play/watch and for us to relate to them; imagine a Kirk who isn’t swayed by every pretty face, sounds pretty boring to me.

I’ll agree that not finding a clue can stump a plot, but that’s why you don’t build mods were you can only find the clue in one place with one specific skill, I subscribe to the rule of 3 (not the comedy rule) but that you should have the same clue in 3 different places with 3 different methods of getting at it e.g. a dropped business card (spot hidden), a nosy neighbour who overheard where the taxi was taking them (fast talk/money) and an electronic diary/calendar (Computer use/research).

But going back to heroic failure, losing the quest should be a real possibility in RPGs particularly with a Cthulhu-esk style mythos. What is reward without actual risk, even if it’s just finding that clue and knowing where to go next.

No Buffy in the 90`s version?… Well, I hope the Kung-Fu Spice Girls and the Undead Backstreetboys are involved somehow!

ThomasCeliusPettersen I made Buffy as an “overflow” character if there were more than five people interested in playing she was available. I found her pretty easy to tie in to the story so I will probably use her in the actual episode.
